Fort Lee Street Fair
We give out free water to show the neighborhood that the church is here to provide for a basic and essential need… With no strings attached. Too often, churches have been known for what they want from people rather than what they want for people. If giving out free water to everyone can help restore some of what the church should be about, then it’s worth it.
Was this a publicity stunt?
Our intention was not to gain publicity for ourselves. However, our intention was to restore some of the faith that people have in the institution of the church and specifically the local church. Of course, we chose not to do it anonymously, because we want you know to know we’re here if you ever feel the need to explore Christianity.
Who are you guys?
We are a church that has existed on the top of the hill on Main St. since 1867 (seriously, look it up). However, more recently, under new leadership we have invigorated the congregation to reach out to the Ft. Lee and surrounding communities. We believe that the grace of God can reach every person’s deepest need. You don’t need to be a believer or follower of Christ in order to come.
What kind of church hands out free water?
The same type of church that serves lunch after every service! That’s right, we serve free lunch after every service as a way to get people to sit down at the end of their busy lives and really connect with each other. (Drinks are free too, of course.)
